Rory
Allen
In concert with the Legendary Jordanaires
Accompanied by Victor Sawa
& The Regina Symphony Orchestra
Saskatchewan's
own Rory Allen, who made music history in Regina last year with
back-to-back sellouts at the Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts,
is thrilled to announce that the legendary Jordanaires from Nashville,
Tennessee are returning to help celebrate Regina's 100 year anniversary!
"We're proud that these special concerts are happening in
our city during our Centennial year", said Mayor Pat Fiacco.
The
Jordanaires, who backed up Elvis Presley for fourteen years, are
still one of the most respected and sought after quartets in the
music industry, with sold recordings with their backup vocals
estimated at over 2.6 billion worldwide. "With the huge success
of last year's concerts, we knew we had to bring the Jordanaires
back one more time", said Rory. "What makes this event
even more spectacular is that the Regina Symphony Orchestra under
the direction of famed maestro, Victor Sawa, will accompany my
own dynamic 13-piece band on stage this year. It is going to be
breathtaking, to say the least!"
Known
as a visionary with a mission to present live orchestral music
to as wide an audience as possible, Victor Sawa enthusiastically
agreed that the Regina Symphony Orchestra would wholeheartedly
support this endeavor, stating "We are very excited and proud
to be a part of these concerts".
To
relive the movie and Vegas years of Elvis Presley, Rory Allen
is pulling out all the stops, with a 55-member ensemble, including
full costuming and stage effects - taking his show to a level
not yet seen in Regina.
These
historic performances will be held Friday, September 12th and
Saturday, September 13th at 8:00 p.m. in the beautiful Shirley
Bell Theatre, Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts in Regina. Rory
Allen's CDs and cassettes, including his newest album -- For
the Good Times -- will be available for sale at the concert.
